To the west of Kill Devil Hills is Colington and Colington Harbour. There are two islands, Little Colington Island, further east towards Kill Devil Hills, and Big Colington Island, which is further to the west. The Outer Bank’s largest gated community is Colington Harbour. It was designed as a boating community with a series of deepwater canals with direct access to the Albemarle Sound. There are many water views and waterfront properties, including canalfront and sountfront.
